Opmantek Receives Takeover Bid from FirstWave

Opmantek Receives Takeover Bid from FirstWave
Opmantek is excited to announce that it has received an acquisition offer from FirstWave Cloud Technology, a global cybersecurity company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX:FCT). The scrip-based offer will see the companies merge with Opmantek shareholders receiving 42% of the shares in the combined entity.

The proposed acquisition by FirstWave Cloud Technology would enable the integration of Opmantek’s software into FirstWave’s world’s first Open Security Management Platform. The FirstWave platform, CyberCision, enables Service providers anywhere to deliver valuable, cutting-edge cyber security services to their customer base.

Danny Maher, Executive Chairman of Opmantek and recipient of the Australian CEO of the Year award in 2015, commented “we’re thrilled by the opportunity to join FirstWave and take our software and their software to new heights. I am thankful to all our customers, investors and staff for their commitment to the organisation – in particular our two product founders Keith Sinclair and Mark Unwin.”

Opmantek is one of the world’s leading providers of automated network management software to enterprise, telecommunications and MSP organisations. Founded in Australia and with staff worldwide, Opmantek has achieved significant milestones on the global stage, including recently securing Microsoft and NASA as customers.

“The acquisition by FirstWave will enable the integration of Opmantek’s software onto FirstWave’s CyberCision Open Security Management Platform and create an end-to-end solution for network discovery, management and cybersecurity that is globally unique. I am excited to lead FirstWave on completion and truly believe we have an incredible opportunity to be the automated network and security management platform of choice for MSPs globally,” Maher said.

Speaking to Opmantek customers, CEO Craig Nelson said: “While we are incredibly excited by the opportunities that will now be available to the new, combined entity, our commitment to our existing products and customers is unwavering. At our core, we build intelligent network management software that gives businesses access to visibility, control, and automation of their IT environments; that has not and will not change in this exciting new chapter.”

“Thank you to all of our customers that have helped us reach this milestone in the company’s journey, and I’m excited to enter this new chapter with you as we continue to support each other,” Nelson said.

Following the transaction, Maher will join the FirstWave board together with existing Opmantek Board advisor Ray Kiley.  Maher will also serve as CEO of the combined entity, continuing to work alongside current Opmantek CEO Craig Nelson who will remain to spearhead the expanded global sales organisation from North America. All Opmantek staff and current product offerings will remain in place.
